Jumping the Track

Years ago a man stopped me in the hallway at the Children’s Pastors’ Conference in San Diego and told me he was looking forward to reading my book about the Kidz Blitz story. He said he was interested in how Kidz Blitz came to be. “I don’t have a book about the Kidz Blitz story,” I confessed. “Well,” he said, “I can listen to the story on CD.” “I don’t have that either,” I told him. He was startled and said, “You ought to think about doing that.” That was about five years ago, and I have thought about it ever since.

I started writing down the Kidz Blitz stories several years ago, but I didn’t get serious about it until 2011. This past September I spent a week in a converted monastery in Canada where I wrote feverishly.

Then something strange happened.

As I looked back, I began to see a pattern in my life, one that set the foundation for Kidz Blitz Ministries (we now call it “Blitz Ministries“). As a result the book took on a shape I hadn’t anticipated. It explains how jumping five distinct tracks in my life made Kidz Blitz a reality. The book contains lots of stories but also the unique strategy that played a major role in my life.

The book will be released in January 2012. I am out-of-my-mind excited about it. I hope you find the book to be enlightening and encouraging.
